    That is the warning that the three largest department store chains in the US have given to Trump.

    So it's not surprising that Trump already indicated yesterday that he thinks he will be able to work things out with China.

    Trump is going to give in to China because he is being cornered by China left and right. In the import tariff battle between China and the US, the US will lose on all fronts.

    Meanwhile, we are seeing the stock markets recover beautifully.

    As soon as the shelves start to empty, the confidence of the American consumer will decline enormously. That will probably also have consequences for the stock markets. The point is, the brand name of the US has been damaged by Trump. The trust that America had in the world is gone. Trade flows will definitively change, because no one wants the current dependence on the US to continue as it is. Everyone outside the US will therefore take measures, and these will all be negative for the US economy.
